Rivera Brakes Leg In Venezuela
12/24/06 - Former Expos outfielder Juan Rivera
suffered a broken leg this past Friday while
playing in a winter league game in Venezuela.
Rivera, who posted career highs with a .310
average, 139 hits, 23 home runs, 65 runs
scored and 85 RBI last season for the Angels,
had the leg placed in a cast and was flown to
Miami for re-examination.
Rivera played in 134 games with the Expos in
2004, posting a .307 batting average to go
along with 12 home runs and 49 RBI.
