Tom Cheek is among ten finalists for the Ford C.
Frick award. The award is given by the Baseball
Hall of Fame for major contributions to the field of
broadcasting.
Cheek, from 1974 to 1976, served as the swing
man on Montréal Expos radio broadcasts on
television nights.
Cheek is joined on the final ballot by Dizzy Dean,
Ken Harrelson, Joe Nuxhall, Denny Matthews, Bill
King, Tony Kubek, France Laux, Graham
McNamee, and Dave Niehaus.
