Vlad Wins Silver Slugger Award
11/11/06 – Vladimir Guerrero of the
Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim
has been named the winner of a
Louisville Silver Slugger Award,
given annually to the best hitters at
each position in both the American
and National Leagues.  

It is the sixth time that Guerrero has
won the honor and his third as a
member of the Angels.  He also
won the award in 1999, 2000 and
2002 while with the Montreal Expos.

Guerrero posted a .329 average to
go along with 33 home runs and
116 RBI in 2006.  He also had a .
382 on base percentage and a .552
slugging percentage and was
named to his seventh All-Star
team.

In an 11-year career, Guerrero has hit .325 with 338 home runs and 1,052
RBI.  He spent his first eight seasons with Montreal before signing with the
Angels as a free agent on January 14, 2004.
