Day Released by Nats
10/05/06 - Former Expos pitcher
Zach Day has cleared waivers and
become a free agent after the
Washington Nationals released him
on October 3.
Day went 1-3 with a 4.72 ERA in five
starts for the Nationals this season
after being claimed off waivers from
the Colorado Rockies earlier in the
season.
The 6'4" righthander has compiled a
21-27 record with one save and a
4.66 ERA in a five-year major league
career.
Day was originally drafted by the
Yankees and spent time with the
Indians organization before making
his major league debut with the
Expos in 2002.
