Alou Out As Giants Manager
10/2/06 – Former Expos manager Felipe Alou has
been let go as skipper of the San Francisco Giants
after four seasons with the club.

Alou took over the Giants in 2003 and led them to the
National League Western Division title that season.
However, San Francisco just completed their second
straight season in which they finished with a losing
record.  He compiled a 342-304 record as the Giants
manager.

Alou played 17 years in the majors, posting a .286
lifetime average with 206 home runs and 852 RBI in
stints with the Giants, Braves, Athletics, Yankees,
Expos and Brewers.  Prior to the Giants, he managed
the Expos for ten seasons and won the National
League Manager of the Year Award in 1994.
