Pelicans Promote Nunnari
6/15/06 – Former Expos first baseman Talmadge Nunnari has
been promoted to general manager and will take over day-to-
day operations for the Pensacola Pelicans of the independent
American Association.

Nunnari , a Pensacola native, is in his fourth season with the
team after first helping them win the 2002 Southeastern
League championship as a player.  He succeeds George
Stavrenos, who decided to leave the team to pursue other
opportunities.

Originally drafted by Montreal in the ninth round of the 1997
amateur draft, Nunnari appeared in 18 games for the Expos in
2000.  He went 1 for 5 with an RBI.  Nunnari attended
Jacksonville University in 1996 and 1997 and was named to
the Sun Belt Conference All-Time Team this past January.
