Darensbourg Signs With Tribe
5/3/06 – Pitcher Vic Darensbourg, who appeared in six games for the Expos in
2003, has signed a minor league contract with the Cleveland Indians.
The 35-year-old southpaw has a career record of 8-17 with two saves and a 4.96
ERA in an eight-year career that has included stints with the Marlins, Rockies,
Expos, White Sox, Mets and Tigers. Last season while with Detroit, Darensbourg
appeared in 22 games, posting a 1-1 record to go along with a 2.82 ERA.
In 2003, Darensbourg pitched just 6 2/3rds innings while with Montreal, giving up
eight runs on 13 hits and one walk which culminated in an 10.80 ERA.
