Milwaukee Signs Claudio Vargas

Vargas and the Milwaukee Brewers
have agreed on a one-year contract
worth $2.5 million.
The right-handed pitcher went 12-10
with a 4.83 ERA for Arizona last
season before a six-player trade in
October sent him to the Brewers.
Vargas was originally drafted by
Florida but was dealt to the Expos
along with Cliff Floyd and Wilton
Guerrero in 2002 for Graeme Lloyd,
Carl Pavano, Mike Mordecai and
Justin Wayne.

record of 32-32 to go along with a 4.92 ERA.
