Jamey Carroll Inks Two-Year Deal With Rockies
1/4/07 – Former Montreal infielder Jamey Carroll agreed
to a two-year contract with the Colorado Rockies on
Wednesday.  Financial terms of the deal were not
disclosed but it includes a club option for 2009.

Last year with Colorado , Carroll hit .300 with five home
runs and 36 RBI in 136 games.  He led all National
League second baseman with a .995 fielding
percentage and all major league second baseman with
3.99 assists per nine innings.

Carroll was drafted in the 14th round of the 1996
amateur draft and made his big league debut with the
Expos in 2002.  He has a .280 lifetime average to go
along with seven home runs and 90 RBI over five
seasons in the majors.
